Responsible behaviour

Acting ethically and responsibly with stakeholders, ensuring compliance with a set of principles and rules voluntarily defined by Corticeira Amorim is the Company's main objective when it comes to Corporate Policies and responsible behavior in the business.

 

The Policies adopted by Corticeira Amorim reflect a set of voluntary commitments by the company in terms of ethics and economic, environmental and social responsibility.

Corticeira Amorim's intrinsic values ​​and corporate culture are guided by high standards of ethics and conduct and environmental and social responsibility. This behaviour is upheld daily in the Company and promoted to all interested parties, thereby ensuring correct development of the business.

Corticeira Amorim's Code of Business Ethics and Professional Conduct formalises a set of rules and guidelines that should orient the decisions and daily activities of Corticeira Amorim and its Employees, whether in terms of relations with other Employees, or relations with other stakeholders. Corticeira Amorim relies on effective adherence of all employees and stakeholders to these guidelines.

The Code of Business Ethics and Professional Conduct is regularly reviewed and new policies and practices are accordingly adopted, when considered to be adequate to respond to the Company's commitments and challenges.

Corticeira Amorim has defined a policy on Combating Corruption, where it undertakes to conduct itself with integrity and maintain adequate internal control systems for the prevention and detection of fraud or irregularities, namely with regard to corruption and bribery.

Corticeira Amorim does not allow the practice of corruption and bribery, in an active or passive form, whether in the private or public sector, including payments for facilitating, creating, maintaining or promising irregular situations or favours.

The Irregularity Reporting Procedure enables any stakeholder to confidentially notify any breach of the principles contained in the Code of Business Ethics and Professional Conduct, without any fear of reprisal. The procedure is published in Corticeira Amorim's corporate webpage, so that all recipients can access it.

Corticeira Amorim has defined a Human Rights Policy in which it assumes as a structuring principle of all activity the respect and safeguarding of Human Rights. In particular, it is against arbitrary detention, torture or execution and in favor of human dignity, non-discrimination, equal rights, security and well-being, education, personal and professional development and freedom of conscience, religion, organization, association, opinion and expression.

Corticeira Amorim is committed to building and promoting a framework of respect for the fundamental values of Human Rights (as proclaimed by the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights) and Labour (as set out by the International Labour Organisation), of an imperative for the entire organization and that progressively spreads to other stakeholders, namely Employees, partners, customers and the supply chain.
