Fabrica, Benetton Group's communication research centre, developed an innovative collection of outdoor furnishings made of cork, wood and Galestro terracotta for the Milan Expo. In line with the Expo's theme "Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life", this range of sustainable outdoor furnishings evokes the concept of "whatever comes from earth returns to earth", which supports the use of 100 % recyclable natural materials, with cork standing as the epitome of these properties.
You make the Park is an outdoor furniture collection of 60 pieces - benches, stools, daybeds and tables. The innovative nature of the collection has to do with the fact that the pieces are modular. They can be used in many different ways and be easily moved to encourage interaction as visitors are constantly challenged to create their own personal area in the exhibition site.
