On November 16, the Herdade de Rio Frio estate hosted yet another significant action organised by Corticeira Amorim as part of its social and environmental commitment. 180 employees joined forces to plant 2,400 cork oak trees, thereby helping regenerate the cork oak forest and preserve one of the world's most biodiverse ecosystems.
This initiative not only reinforces the importance of the cork oak tree as a symbol of sustainability, it also demonstrates our employees’ enthusiasm and dedication, whose involvement is essential to the success of these actions.
Since 2011, Corticeira Amorim has been promoting an inspiring reforestation initiative which, over the past 14 editions, has made it possible to plant more than 29,400 autochthonous trees, primarily cork oak trees. This project has involved around 2,100 volunteers, mainly employees, in a collective effort that reflects the company's commitment to environmental preservation and combating climate change.
With each edition, we reaffirm our role as guardians of the cork oak forest and partners with nature, in awareness that these actions have a direct impact on restoring habitats and promoting biodiversity.
Sustainability is a principle that guides all of Corticeira Amorim's activities. We have a forward-looking attitude and strive to ensure that the natural resources we use - such as the cork oak tree - are protected and valued for future generations.
This reforestation project is a living example of our inspiration: authentic passion for the cork oak forest and the environment, ongoing commitment to sustainability and the certainty that, together, we can make a difference.
