We believe that cork can change the world – starting with the moment that cork enters someone's life, inspiring them to create, invent, innovate.
Cork Changed Me is a project that aims to compile a set of stories about artists, creatives, entrepreneurs, inventors or people in general for whom cork has had a positive impact on their daily lives, or in their art or businesses. People who have used cork to create a brand, product or innovative solution, and others who have adopted cork in their homes and daily lives. In this second episode of «Cork Changed Me», we talk to Daniel Michalik, the North American designer who developed the furniture for Google’s first physical store, in New York, with cork supplied by Amorim Cork Composites. He is also a professor at Parsons School of Design, and reflects on the relationship between design and sustainability, the entire creative process and the profound impact that cork has had on his work. This intimate episode covers emblematic architectural sites in the city of Porto, Amorim’s various industrial units and also explores the starting point for Michalik's passion for this natural material - the cork oak forest.
Watch the second episode of #corkchangedme and discover how an incredible natural material has had such an impact on everyday life, art or business!
