Corticeira Amorim's wall and floor coverings have been chosen by the House of Neverless to equip its new premises in Lisbon. This innovative training space, created in close partnership with Nova SBE (Knowledge Partner), now incorporates the numerous advantages conferred by cork - a 100% natural, recyclable and renewable raw material. Acoustic insulation, thermal comfort and improved air quality are just some of the properties that will underpin a healthier activity in the educational facility.
The House of Neverless will also benefit from walking comfort, impact resistance and high performance. The cork flooring solution is supplied by Amorim Cork Flooring, Corticeira Amorim's flooring unit. Over 200 m2 of Wicanders Cork Go flooring offer a perfect combination of tradition, sustainability and exceptional comfort. The decorative wall coverings, supplied by Amorim Cork Composites - Corticeira Amorim's composites unit - also add circular economy practices to the full list of benefits, since the different solutions combine by-products from the cork industry with by-products from many other industries.
The partnership with the House of Neverless matches "Corticeira Amorim's mission to add value to cork, in a competitive, differentiated and innovative manner, in perfect harmony with Nature", emphasises Corticeira Amorim's deputy-chairman, Nuno Barroca. "The cornerstones of our company's modus operandi include issues such as sustainability, the UN Sustainable Development Goals or ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) concepts. Cork will play a central role in Green Building - a new paradigm that points towards the use of sustainable, energy-efficient solutions derived from the 3Rs policy - Reduce, Reuse and Recycle".
This situation is "perfectly aligned with the House of Neverless’ commitments", explains Pedro Batalha, one of the promoters of this initiative, "Our goal is to intersect some of the most relevant, urgent and unavoidable contemporary issues with effective, efficient and experiential methodologies. Issues such as circularity, recycling and sustainability are among the key concerns facing societies today. Cork is a possible answer, since it offers a set of unparalleled qualities. We therefore felt that equipping our facilities with this unique raw material was the right way to start our journey".
The House of Neverless aims to provide companies with a catalyst for change, through transformative programmes that intersect culture, training and entertainment. It offers an immersive learning approach which aims to forge links with the participants’ collective memory. Everything is then translated into immediate application of the acquired knowledge.
